Sounds like mixing desk as no close up talking but could be audience.

I seem to remember a partial BBC Broadcast of this with only one Morrison track, could be wrong.

Fixes by happy jack
track 5 removed pop at 3:00
track 10 softened mic bump at 4:36 and smoothed out abrupt stop (and/or pause button was hit) of recording during the encore applause and then started to record again before encore song. NO muisc was lost

Show & Source Notes:
This is the complete show. This is a continuous running recording of the entire show with all songs included. This verifies the songs played and the order the songs were played in. Also this setlist is confirmed in Levon Helm's book "This Wheel's On Fire".
The only time it seems the recording was stopped or paused was at the end of track 10 before the encore song durring the applause then started back up. This source is the best sounding undedited raw source around.

This is the only raw source of this show that is complete. The two that are the closest are
1) At Woodstock [Wilcock Records 2000] - sourced from three different sources, missing 2 songs and not in the correct order
2) At Woodstock [Home(r) Entertainment Network Germany HEN106 2004) - still missing one song

I thought i would bring this to light and share being that i have never seen this shared before and if it has i never seen this one that i have had for years shared. This was given to me from a special friend who is no longer with us and i am sure he would like to see more people enjoy this. He used to play this for me all the time and say life just seems simple when you here these guys play this music. He gave me two copies one to preserve and one to play all the time. This is an eac (sercure) from the cdr i never played. I know he was at this festival and had alot of good connections and this was lineage he gave me.

* "Throwin Stones" was cut on my previous DVD5 version (just before "no one left to place or take the blame") when the live broadcast switched to Crosby Stills & Nash. For this version, the end of the song + "Satisfaction Bass Solo" were taken from my newly found master tape of the overnight rebroadcast (recorded at EP speed). By comparing the overlapping parts of the live and overnight broadcasts, it's clear the show was shot in widescreen, even though it was broadcast live in 4:3. For some reason, they elected to broadcast the overnight segments in widescreen, as you can see during the last three minutes of DVD 2.

-authored w/Sony DVD Architect Studio 5.0

*Some have noted my Woodstock '94 vids appear to be 2-channel mono due to the "sameness" of the L & R channels. However, I believe the show was broadcast in stereo and my equipment was set up correctly to capture it in stereo. So, it may have been broadcast in 2-channel mono. Perhaps it was just easier for the soundman to put together a mono mix for broadcast on-the-fly due to the number of acts, etc. (& save the stereo remixes for commercial releases). Or perhaps it was downmixed to 2-channel mono due to limitations of the local cable company? Whatever the reason(s) for the similarity between the two channels, I think it's correct to describe this as "stereo," even though those who consider it "2-channel mono" have a good point as well. Regardless of the distinction, it's still some damn fine music! Hope you enjoy.)

Note: Part of Summer Nights series - The Band and JJ Cale both performed sets this nights.

Rick Danko played Crazy Mama (written by JJ Cale) at most of his solo shows and it also became a staple of the reformed Band's shows. It is interesting to hear it performed here with JJ himself.

Query whether this recording is complete. It is unheard of for The Band not to perform The Weight

William Keats wrote:
The new Last Waltz booklet indicates the DC show date was actually 16 August 1976 (see page 1 of the booklet). The PreFM copy that I have has this setlist, which is not the entire show, but everything that King Biscuit broadcast (from PreFM sources including reels, which is how the Biscuit used to get sent out).
