For the 2nd night I had seats on the side which I normally dislike but with the U2 sound system it was an improvement. After 3 1/2 hours of sleep and a long day at a work conference I was tired. Arena was 41 miles away and was supposed to meet a fellow taper who had my ticket between 7 and 7:30. Goal was to arrive early enough to eat and get set up by 6:30. Traffic was hell and finally resorted to side streets through San Jose. After 2 hours in the car dinner was obviously not going to happen so stopped for french fries and the use of the bathroom. I got to arena at 7 and got a text my friend was stuck in traffic. He arrived at 7:30 and rushed in to set up. Show started and both sound was improved and band was hotter. After Beautiful Day Bono changed things up and they went into a great version of Bad. Had to be the highlight of the show. During the encore Bono pulled a kid up on stage which was cool. All in all a nice recording of a fun U2 show.

boombox's notes july 2015:
These annual mini Camel tours are quickly becoming one of my highlights of every year since 2013. Unsurprisingly, these shows all pretty much sold out, but I got my ticket as soon as they were announced, so bagged the end of the second row in front of a stack, thinking it a great position to get nice and close to Andy et al, and hopefully where I could get a good recording and some photos and video. Unfortunately, the Forum staff were not the friendliest, pouncing on anyone they saw with a camera. This was a pity as they really did put on a full multi-media show, with excellent lights and some fine 70s-style projections, which would have been lovely to share. As for the setlist, it was a complete change from the previous two outings, with no Snow Goose at all (though St Alban's the previous night got some in a second encore). A much rockier set (Andy told me afterwards that they were trying to do a setlist better suited to the various festivals they are playing this summer) and tough to pick favourites, but special mention has to go to 'Ice', which got a trully well-deserved standing ovation and a fine, bittersweet, 'Long Goodbyes', which featured projections of Chris Rainbow and Guy Le Blanc, who we lost earlier this year. I've included a small folder of the few half decent pics I managed to snap as a memento for those there who weren't so lucky!

As for the recording, it's pretty good, I think, despite the PA being suspended quite high, so back in about row 10 might have been a better location. To compensate, I added a bit of a mid-range hump and took out some of the bass - when Denis hit the floor toms in the louder passages, it was causing my chest to vibrate quite uncomfortably - it's a miracle my mics coped with it. I had to reduce the level of some of the whoops, hollers and clapping of my very enthusiastic neighbour and used just a tiny bit of compression to tame some of the peaks. As always, my 24 bit masters are available for anyone wanting to do a remaster/matrix project: just make sure it's shared here for all to benefit, please.

Notes by the taper:
Recorded from literally the farthest point away from the stage all the way against the back wall. Even though we were far back, the recording came out great. Almost no talkers at all. I always hold my recorder out in the open, hoping for the best. This is probably one of my best so far. I removed the first 39 secs of this recording due to me giving my g/f last minute instructions. WARNING! Around 30 seconds on the first track the levels peak for about 5 secs. I Eq'd the mids and raised them just a hair to bring the recording out and let it breathe a little bit. Each track I added 1db of gain. NOTHING else was done.

notes by the taper
Here my recording for Verona.
I attended last year Gilmour at the Arena, but there is no comparison.
I think that he found the sound of the better days, and the new members add more musicality, specially Chester Kamen. I attended with my friends Paolino and Adriano, and before the gig I met many floydian friends as Mino, Mariella, Alberto and the Y! member PinkFloyd83. About the recording, the raw version is full of bass, I don't know why, I recorded in many places always with the same setting, but in the Arena I have always problems. So I asked at Ipietri an help and he agreed, and he made a great work (as always!) so for him the biggest thanks.

notes
I had the $85 mystery seats as there is almost no way I'm ever going to drop $600 a ticket, unless it is Page, Plant, Jones and Bonham on stage. So to avoid any major dissapointment if we were not lucky in the lottery draw, I went in expecting the worst seat in the ACC, anything better to me was going to be a bonus, unfortunately not much better, as the 2nd last row tickets was awaiting in our envelope. Lots of older folk up there, not sure if free tickets went to parents of the choir, but that was about the loudest applause of the night after the kids made the stage. All that being said, the PA mix was horrible, not sure if it was the location, but I have had simular seats for Aerosmith and had no issues with the sound that night. I did my best with the recording, eliminating a few claps, and the normalisation helped a little but still now where near a great recording. There is the odd clap along here and there, but no chatter, or out of tune singers. If anyone has the time and desire to make this nicer, then please go right ahead, I can make the original files available if need be, just share your results afterwards for others to enjoy. Until that happens, or another recording surfaces then this will have to do for now.

IMHO one of DGB's best recordings. Very nice crispy sound. I can't believe it is from that same Arena as many other recordings were. Nice very long FM show.

I had bad vibes on the drive to the concert because the weather forecast called for 80 to 100 percent chance of rain during the show. Thankfully, we got not one drop of rain, and there was a nice breeze. I saw the Stones only once before in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1994, so I figured if I wanted to see them again now was the time. Mick was full of energy throughout the show, and the crowd couldn’t get enough. There were bum notes from Keith from time to time, but no one seemed to care. It’s clear that 2015 is not 1972, but they’re still getting it done. I was hoping for “Street Fighting Man,” but “She’s So Cold” was nice. Let me know what you think of the quality.

Not the best recording, I was about 50 meters from the stage at the right speaker, sound was thin and the crowd was noisy. During Glad To Be Here, it started to rain heavily. Therefore I had to put my mics under my clothes so the sound during Don't Cry is pretty much fucked. I decided to move to the stands, sound is getting better during Civil War but the wind and rain is still very audible.

4. Mickeyfs Notes:
I was delightedly surprised with Whitesnakefs last show from Japan Tour 2013. Rumor has it Davidfs pipe was complete toast and his singing would get progressively worse, and then the worst would be most likely to be the last show (Osaka). So I was strongly advised to avoid the last gig and to get a ticket for the first or the second to the last show.

To be fair to Coverdale, he was suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion IN THE PAST. I knew that many of loyal Whitesnake fans cried out begging them to throw in the towel at numerous shows IN THE PAST. But that was then, this is now. Some say he fully recovered and has gotten his voice back. So I took a quick look at the latest picture of him on his facebook and wondered gHow the hell he looks so young and hairlycHe looks dumb good to be a pushing 60 year old rocker. So I figured "I should check this band at the most convinienet venue, Orix Theater, Osaka (30mins away from my house). And no matter what, at least I could say I saw his act one last time. Whatever will be will be"

The show was SOLD OUT. Orix Theater Osaka was completely packed with total different age groups from seemingly totally different walk of life. I also saw a couple of 8-10 year old boys and girls with their 30 to 50 something year old parents. The variety of the audience in different age group reflects upon this bandfs long successfully carrier and creation of loyal fans in different generation in Japan.

Just like any other good show, as the show time approached, I could feel the boiling excitement and anticipation forming the good vibe on the floor. When the light was out and the Whofs My Generation announced the opening of the show, Coverdale and his mates sneaked out on the stage in the dark. I could not see much with dimmed lights but Coverdale looked very healthy and fit kitted with the regular; the tour shirt. The opening chords and the thunderous drums of GIVE ME ALL YOUR LOVING TONIGHT blasted through the stacks on the stage. Coverdale moved around and covered the whole stage with the massive energy and finesse of a man half his age. Coverdale was in top form and clearly up for the job. Aldrich and Beach newly added on board, Davidfs voice was sounding full, strong and most of all convincing. Every now and then Coverdale seemed to take a break or rest his voice in the middle of guitar or drum solo during a 90 min show. It was rather short but surely worthy of checking it
Mickey

5. Tapersf & Sound Editorsf Notes:
Recorded from this venuesf only one sweet sound spot with MK4 and Nbox combo. It all turns out to be one of the best recordings this year. The low end might sound a tad thinner than it should be but this is exactly how it sounded that night. Highly recommended for all of Whitesnake fans. Get it quick and crank the volume all the way up!!

Headlining the final day of Download 2016 to a reported 85000 people. This was Iron Maiden's sixth time at Donington. There was heavy rain throughout the weekend and just before the intro a roadie was sent out to sweep some of the rain water from the stage. This would have seemed sensible were it not for the fact that the roadie was wearing only a skimpy leather thong and a gimp mask. Bruce wished Queen Elizabeth a Happy Birthday at the start of the  Trooper for her "official" 90th birthday the previous day. He wore a wrestler's mask during Powerslave but had to half remove it towards the end of the song so he could sing properly. The playful mood continued with Bruce moving Adrian's microphone every time he tried to sing during Wasted Years.
