notes: 
a great performance. (Robert mentions in 1985 interview, just a few days before worcester 1985 show, that this show was one of the highlights of his 1983 tour) band is hot, Phil Collins playing drums, it's the 1st Plant show in mass. since Led Zeppelin in 1973 (long story there, and ten years gone, so there was a Plant jones going on here like a shark feeding for the 1st time in 10 years) 
and the 1st ever live performance of "far post", so the crowd is super pumped fortunately the crowd is not too overwhelming in the recording, and the performance is very enthusiastic, as good as any zep show for Robert. his voice was in prime form and he was definitely in the mood for a melody for almost 2 hours in worcester. the last 4 songs (tracks 14-17) are encores. it has been said here in mass that nothing shades one's ears from the overbearing sunlight of a screaming crowd at a rock concert better than a purple moon. this was a very loud crowd, maybe the loudest ever at a centrum concert? but somehow the taper managed to get a clear relatively unobstructed recording, although there is some change in quality here and there as people pass in front 
of the stereo mike. even with all that going on, probably one of the best recordings of the 1983 plant tour to circulate, and there isn't a better show.

 This CD I got from a Japanese collector in distant years when trades were made by post before the fast internet connections, especially here in Brazil. I like the Both Sides tour. It was not so spectacular as the previous 1990 but still consisted of a very good repertoire. This show in particular is one of the best performances of the tour. As is known, this time the voice of Phil Collins suffered problems with sufferable performances as in Chile in 18-Apr-1995 where have the impression that your voice will end up before the show. The quality of the audio, to be as their origin a FM radio broadcast, I regard as excellent, almost at the level of an SBD. Hope you enjoy the result.

This concert was filmed for the 1990 vhs release of "Seriously Live" and 2003 dvd release "Serious Hits... Live!" The CD released version contains various songs taken from other concerts during the Seriously, Live! World Tour. This is the FM broadcast of the Berlin concert, in it's entirety. The mix and fidelity are noticeably different than the video tape. I used the video as a guideline to properly pitch adjust this FM to match the video. The only thing different, is that this tape copy is missing the first 25 seconds of the introduction and the first song kind of starts in progress. There was a tape cut during track 21 "Sussudio". I used the video's audio as a patch from 3:57 - 4:10.

In May of 1988 Atlantic Records celebrated their 40th anniversary in New York City at Madison Square Garden. A grand mix of Atlantic artist performed ranging from the past to the (then) present. The actual concert lasted over 12 hours and portions of the concert were broadcast on HBO and simulcast on FM radio. My recording was taken from WNEW FM in New York and totals 5 1/2 hours in length. The entire show was never broadcast. Some artist’s sets were edited and some omitted entirely. The broadcast started hours after the event started so some of the performances shown were live while others were recorded earlier. To some extent the performances were not broadcast in their original running order with acts from earlier in the day inserted between the later acts and of course songs omitted to make room for them.

The HBO show and this simulcast are probably the most complete versions of the show in circulation. The HBO show has been posted here before: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/...lantic+records. But as far as I know the simulcast has not. An edited down version of this concert was shown on ABC TV later this same year and then Atlantic Records released a video of the show which contained excerpts of the performance intermixed with archive footage of other Atlantic artists.

Quite an interesting array or artists spanning 40 years of Atlantic history. There is a section in the center of the show with various members of Booker T. & The M.G.'s featuring Steve Cropper and Duck Dunn along with Dan Akyroyd as his alter ego Elwood Blues. They are listed here as The Elwood Blues Review as dubbed so by Elwood himself. And of course the night concludes with the Led Zeppelin Reunion featuring Jason Bonham on drums. Quite a night.

There are a couple of glitches in this recording such as some static present in track 9 and a few other random spots. I don't know if that is an artifact of the broadcast or just my reception. I'm leaning towards an artifact of the broadcast. Also there is a tape flip at the end of Urgent and another at the end of People Got To Be Free with a short bit missing. Other then that the recording is complete. Enjoy!

Here's a DVD from Phil's '94/'95 Both Sides world tour, again courtesy of The Genesis Movement website.  I don't have any lineage information, and in fact, the original torrent did not even have a .txt file.  That said, artwork is included.  The quality of this recording is outstanding, despite being incomplete.  This is as close as one can get to having an official release quality recording from that tour.
