Notes:

This was recorded in the 5th row right in front of security and under the suspended subs above me which gave me a great bass response. Not much crowd noise for an acoustic recording but there is some mild noise during the encores as people kept leaving and forcing me to move around a bit. Sometime during the encores I moved to the center to see what the difference in sound would be however, the bass response falls off a bit. I had a wonderful time at the show but realize now the show lives on as a rare occurence with Jerry Douglas and Jim Lauderdale in the same band. It's an absolute treat istening to these guys play the reworked versions of Elvis' classics. Everyday I Write the Book and Brilliant Mistake are stunning enough let alone hearing Elvis paying homage to a great American artist named Jerry Garcia (heard of him?) by playing Friend of the Devil. This is the first time I've seen a copy of this show circulate.

It is an excellent PRO Shot video of Elvis and the Attractions in 1980. There are not many PRO Shot Elvis Costello and the Attraction shows currently in circulation so this is a special treat. Be patient for the first 45 seconds until the sound corrects itself. Then sit back and enjoy the show. One very interesting song is Elvis' cover of the Temptations' "Don't Look Back". The second part of the video is Elvis appearing on the Tom Snyder show. The quality of that footage isn't great but it's interesting to watch.

This show has been around forever, and it was very hissy, but a great set. Many years ago, I was doing a trade with a guy across the ocean and he casually mentioned that he had the show in really good quality. I decided to go for it, but I was dubious. Lo and behold, it did sound better than my version. I don't know how it ranks against your copy, but I like this. Despite the fact that it has the same old Elvis solo standbys that we're so sick of by now (Radio Sweetheart, God's Comic), it has some oddball songs like Shamed Into Love, So Like Candy, and That Day is Done that make it essential. It's always good to hear New Amsterdam as well.

Notes:
This recording found it's way to me from a long time buddy/collector via a portable HD. The HD contains a good 50-75 shows from Wolf Trap from about 2010 - 2013 I have found NONE of these to be in circulation, nor have I found many to have been recorded via any other source. So I would regard these as very unique.

I can conclude that almost all of these recordings (if not all) were recorded via ALD. They are all Mono, and many of the recordings have various stages of Clipping. It's not clear if the clipping is only in the copies I received or are on the original files (which I had no access to) Without overly enhancing or destroying the recordings, I have done the best I could to master them and put them out. I would welcome any input on the history of these recordings or anything else that someone could enlighten me as to their origin.
