Notes:
There a few pops in the 7/1/72 set, but overall exceptional sound throughout.

Additional Notes:
Received these from a trader in the UK around 1992 that was affiliated with the BBC. He claims all were from his masters that he recorded himself, making them 1st gen. copies. Gklainer transferred these from the original cassettes to .wav files in 1998, and recorded the XM broadcast early last year. The estate of Rory Gallagher released "BBC SESSIONS" in 1999, and placed some of the original tracks from this set on this release. Those 5 tracks have been removed, along with 5 other tracks from 1971 and 1972 originally recorded that were either mono or had sound problems.  The removed tracks have been replaced with the entire BBC Broadcast from 1/7/72 that was transferred from vinyl. So kick back and listen to a great sounding, dynamic selection of early songs from RORY GALLAGHER. 8/12/71-

These unreleased Dylan tracks come from the highest quality lossless sources. (NO LOSSY HERE!) Tape-sourced studio and Pre-FM songs have been cleaned of dropouts and corrected to true mono. Vinyl sourced tracks have also been corrected to mono and carefully cleaned of surface noise. Many of the vinyl sourced songs are fresh new transfers from test pressings, withdrawn promos & bootleg LP's and have yet to see an official commercial release (it remains to be seen if they ever will). Some of these songs have appeared on Biograph and The Bootleg Series but in very different versions. No compression or noise reduction was used in mastering, so if you're an audiophile and a fan of early Dylan, snatch it up!

BANCO DEL MUTUO SOCCORSO Papagayo Club 1972 reviews
http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=12735

Where I live, if you see anything by a band like this, you get it. It is extremely rare (almost nonexistent). I saw this disc in my favorite used shop, but wasn't sure. It looked a little sketchy, and I hadn't heard anything about it. I went home, and checked it out. After some searching, it turned out to be a legitimate release. I wasn't too worried about it not still being there. The chances of many other people knowing what it was were pretty slim. So, I bought it (at an import price as well).

As the recording was made during the "Darwin" promotional tour, the songs come from the first two albums. The club was obviously small, and the recording is very poor. It sounds like a bootleg. The first track is especially bad, but it does get better. If you can get past this, and the audience chatter, the performances are quite good. They put on a heck of a show for that small crowd.

The value in this mostly comes from a historical perspective. As a snapshot of these guys in their initial glory, it works quite well. If you are looking for a great Banco live recording, you should probably go elsewhere. Every song can be heard on another live CD, or DVD, with the exception of "Miserere Alla Storia." Unfortunately, this is the one with the worst sound.

I am not disappointed in my purchase, because I value it for what it is. The lonely little disc also needed to find a home, with someone who could appreciate it. If you are in a eclectic prog vacuum (like me), and run across this, get it. If you have other options, best save this one for the final completion of your Banco collection. The rarity aspect, and the quality of the performance, give it a solid two stars.

Notes:
Between or after the Windows performances in Munich in June 1974 Jon Lord (Deep Purple) and Eberhard Schoener were asked to do a project for the "Rock Meets Classic" series, that German TV did in the early 70ies. It's not a real concert, the band and the orchestra separately rehearse and perform parts of Mozart's "Kroenungsmesse". The quality is good, except of a number of short video tape errors

notes
During the 2000-2004 period, The Cure made several U.S. television appearances to promote "Bloodflowers", "The Cure" and the Curiosa Festival. I was ready with my VCR to record whatever I was aware of. I just dug these tapes out and realized I had enough to create a decent compilation, and here it is. This is all first generation and in great shape. The appearances included here are MADtv (2000), Craig Kilborn (2003), Jay Leno (2004) and Pepsi Smash (2004). The song list follows.
