Comments:
After a highly successful reunion tour in 2003-2004, Simon and Garfunkel returned to the stage for a handful of dates in East Asia and Australia in 2009 with the intent to launch a worldwide tour in 2010. The plan had been to start with a handful of warmup dates, beginning with the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in late April. From comments and stories I remember reading at the time, the show was somewhat of a disaster, with Art being literally unable to sing due to his vocal chord condition. He left the stage about halfway through while Simon played a handful of solo songs, then the duo struggled through the remainder of the set. The rest of the tour was canceled, and the two haven't performed together since.

Depending on how Art's recovery progresses (as well as Paul Simon's interest in continuing the reunion around his own schedule), this may turn out to be the final Simon & Garfunkel performance.

This recording, originally posted by "checker806" in May 2010, is the only recording I've seen reach circulation from this show. Done using Zoom H2 external mics in the midst of a large GA crowd, this recording is relatively unspectacular (but laudable considering what were probably difficult taping conditions) -- not much "life" to the recording, and a fair amount of crowd noise. The performance itself, I suspect, was truncated on the fly and remained limited to the familiar material the two performed on their previous tour. Had Art been at full strength, I'm sure they would have added different content to the show to differentiate it from the previous tour.
