Arthur Lee and Love - The Hendrix Sessions (STU/FLAC)
(Studio FLAC)
Info from the original uploader "DoinkerTape":
Arthur Lee and Love - The Hendrix Sessions (Love + Hendrix) Olympia Studios, London 1970-03-xx + Love Live Copenhagen 1970-03-xx and 1970-03-12
The month of March 1970 must have been wild for Arthur Lee and Love! At sometime during the month of March, they jammed in the studio with Jimi. These sessions apparently were put onto an acetate, which AL brought into a radio station at a later date. The acetate was played over the air,and the radio transmission was recorded with amateur equipment, which accounts for the sound quality. It's possible that is Arthur Lee's voiceover fragment at the very beginning of Midnight Sun. There are eight tracks in all.
The material is quite interesting, and lives up to the hype about it. If it were possible to say so, I'd call it a mind-meld between the two artists. The only beef I have about it at all is that there wasn't more of it to give you.
Also in March, Love was on tour in Europe. The next eight tracks are from the Falconer Theatre in Copenhagen, from May 12.
The final five tracks are from Tivoli Gardens, also in Copenhagen, from an unspecified date in March. The difference in performance from the Falconer show is startling. They sound burnt and raving.
Altogether it's somewhat bewildering to me, IMHO. Jim Morrison was quoted early on as saying that the Doors hoped their sound would be as big (popular) as Love. Arthur Lee still sounds great in concert, but Love has only a pocket audience now. Jim is dead (so they say), and the Doors still have worldwide attention.
No, none of these are audience recordings.

This recording is the 3rd and last one I got from Mikesline's old cassettes. Mikes converted the recording to 2 single flac files and I used audacity to separate them into tracks just like for the others. The cassette tracklist did not match to the tracks I could edit for disc 2..so I renamed it. I did not take time to check if all the session is available somewhere else but a portion is known as "Drifting overdub sessions", july 23, 1970, available in "Electric Lady Studios Mixing Session". I don't know if all the stuff here is from that day. There are a lot of cuts and drops, sound is still a little tin but there are some interesting moments.

This was a benefit show sponsered by KNAC radio. Featured Loudness, Rhino Bucket and a few others. An official cd was supposed to be released but the recording came out "too hot" so it was unusable. Robert's hi-hats were so crispy and distorting. I recieved an untouched version but decided to EQ to smooth out the sound. Highs were lowered, lows were rasied. Overall a good sounding show. I was at this show & a funny moment was during Rhino Buckets set, their singer made some comments about Stryper by saying, "some bands needed to check their ego's at the door". Michael makes note of this during the show, you will hear. :)

Notes:
In 2000, Morrison released a collaboration with Linda Gail Lewis (Jerry Lee Lewis's sister), You Win Again. Another side project, this time focusing on R&B and country-and-western standards, Lewis proved to be an excellent duet partner, and the project set the stage for Morrison's next album, Choppin' Wood. Clinton Heylin's book, Can You Feel the Silence?, discusses this period in great detail, but due to legal issues surrounding the matter, not everything could be divulged. By the end of 2000, the album was essentially finished when Lewis and Morrison had a falling out.
As a result, Morrison went back and re-recorded and/or remixed most of the tracks, removing Lewis's contributions in the process. A few songs were removed from the final running order and more new ones were added in. The result was released in 2002 as Down the Road. Arguably Morrison's strongest release since Avalon Sunset, Heylin contends that the original version, Choppin' Wood, would have been a true return to form. It is doubtful if that notion will ever be put to the test because the original recordings have yet to circulate, privately or publicly.-- From WIkipedia

Notes:
The VHS tape I received was missing two pieces of dialog that were aired on the original braodcast. I spliced them in from the MTV2 broadcast. The first occurs at the end of Beat A Drum when Michael talks about how he looked during the 1991 Unplugged taping. The second occurs at the end of Country Feedback when he talks about George Bush. I think I did a pretty good job with the splices and that they are unnoticable. -- Also, this was a TV taping, so there are cuts between some of the songs. i.e. not cheering crowd noise from song to song.

Led Zeppelin - 1963-1988 - Cabala (VAR/FLAC)
(Various FLAC)
CABALA
8CD's covering Zed Zeppelin and relevent pre-Led Zeppelin material, dating from roughly 1963 through 1988. Quality is variable, but all very listenable.
It's an interesting set to listen to, if only for Jonseys bass line during CD7's ALL MY LOVE from 1977! You get a good idea of what preceeded and helped dirct them early on along with an intersting sample of some of their best songs, and chunk of rare and obscure tracks and takes.

Eric Clapton - 1974-1975 - One of the Hilarious Show (SBD/FLAC)
(Soundboard FLAC)
This is a Clapton compilation called "One of the Hilarious Show." geetarz posted this upload in Sept. '10. He remarked, "The West Palm Beach show alone is worth the price of admission (which is free, by the way!) ... Amazing - EC and band performing The Who's 'I Can't Explain' (with Keith Moon). As to EC's performance of 'Badge,' it's one of 'those' shows. 'Mabel? MABEL? Fuckin' MABEL? Never heard of her...' This is a fun one!"
The compilation "Booze Brothers" has two other tunes from the West Palm Beach date: Every Night About This Time & I Shot the Sheriff (which precede the band intros).
The complete San Diego date is found on "San Diego Seventy Five," though I think the sound seems muffled by comparison.
