Midnight Special 200th episode w/ Tom Jones
Season 5, Episode 14 Ð Aired: 12/17/1976
Notes:
Here is a compilation of rare Sly and the Family Stone performances and interviews from 73-76. The video quality varies from good to poor but there is some mighty rare stuff like a live version of "Mother Beautiful" & "Small Talk" and glimpses of Sly's auto collection and wedding footage. The Midnight Special stuff was compiled from 2 different sources to make the most complete version possible. The magic is in the Mike Douglas shows with Sly and Richard Pryor. Also, a pretty crazy and inexplicable performance during the AMAs.

This is a real beauty! Check out this awesome stereo soundboard recording, which includes all the studio chat in between songs (you need to listen closely to hear it though!) and occasional false starts on songs too! It was only 'Eight Miles High' that never made it to the final setlist on this tour. 'More Than This' and 'The Space Between' was played only a handful of dates too. Track one has been left out, due to the fact that the 'intro' track was an official release, which had just basic instrument tuning and sound-checking over it.

Description: A series of POP 2 specials about Frank Zappa (and Jean-Luc Ponty) broadcasted on French television in 1971 (very nice quality, probably a (DVB?) capture of a re-broadcast). I had to remove the '200 motels' parts of the DVD because these are officially released. http://db.etree.org/lookup_show.php?shows_key=393058

Disc Two Notes:
The highlight of both of these discs is Track 10 of Disc Two where Stevie and Lonnie play Wham together. Stevie fans will recognize that this is Stevie playing with his mentor the very first song that Stevie learned to play and the very first record that Stevie ever bought. Recall that Stevie played Wham so many times as a kid and so loudly in his bedroom that his Dad got mad and broke the record more than once, forcing Stevie to just go out and buy another copy and repeat the process over and over. The repeated tracks are alternate camera angles of what appears to me to be the same take of each respective song that appears earlier on either of the discs. Track 7 cuts out and track 8 cuts in. Tracks 1 through 7 have an alternate non-SBD audio source. From Track 8 on, there is a "For Preview Only" subtitle posted across the bottom of the screen.
Pink Floyd - From Abbey Road to Britannia Row - The Extraction Tapes (STU/FLAC)

Unissued Alternate Studio Recordings 1975 - 1976
01 Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts 1-9)
02 Welcome To The Machine
03 Have A Cigar
04 Sheep (Raving and Drooling)
05 Dogs
06 Pigs (Three Different Ones)
07 Sheep Sound Effects
I received these files from a collector friend in the last couple of days. It sounds to me like Animals has been taken from an improved copy of the source used for the earlier 'Extraction Tapes' vinyl release. Sources appear to have been speed corrected.
Unfortunately I don't have artwork, other than that I've found on the web and embedded into the FLACs.
Sound is way better than the vinyl transfers I've heard. All in all an amazing release.
