Notes from Hussey
I did this one years ago from the lp's. So, I had to take out the banter, smooth-out transitions, and manually take out all the static pops! I was lucky to use a friend's top-of-the-line turntable and stylus, so the sound came out great. Took it from the WW1 version, as the Mellow Yello lp's I have (which the last little surprise came from) were in pretty poor shape and required tons more work. All-in-all a fun show with some of the greatest sound from any radio lp's! Oh, and the bit of "Lady is a Tramp" from the intro's is also from the Mellow Yellow lp's--I didn't have room on the then 74-minute cd, so I did some editing--goofy for me to hear now how I blended the end of the intros for the end of the song and had to mask it with a building applause! But, I think it's simply fabulous!

Pink Floyd - Animals Test Acetate (STU/FLAC)

(Studio FLAC)

01 - Pigs (Three Different Ones) (11:28)
02 - Sheep (10:16)
03 - Dogs (16:58)
04 - Pigs on the Wing (3:13)

Animals Test Acetate is a 1-CD release by an unidentified/unknown label that’s claimed to be “an early mix during the production of the Animals album”, Pink Floyd’s 1977 classic, and that’s pretty much what it apparently is.  It’s basically the same as the original studio release, but with the songs obviously arranged in a different order, and with a mix that sounds slightly more raw, somewhat rougher.  There’s also unfortunately some considerable instability, as at some points in the lengthier tracks, especially “Dogs” and “Pigs (Three Different Ones)”, the mix of instruments/vocals and/or the sound quality seems to change noticeably.  Just a couple examples of such can be found at approx. 10:40 into “Pigs” and approx. 14:50 into “Dogs”.  The last song, “Pigs on the Wing”, consists of both the 1st & 2nd parts, bridged by Snowy White’s guitar solo in between the two halves.  No other differences between this early mix of Animals and the original studio version could be discerned.  The artwork is considerably impressive, with the inserts being given a classy-looking glossy finish similar to that of the ones produced the last couple years by the Siréne/Sigma label.  (D.Lee)

notes:
This earliest Canned Heat live tape I found yet, was recorded in an unknown club and feature the original Canned Heat w/Frank Cook on Drums! Again the song-list here includes some tracks not available from any other known Canned Heat recording! Those of you who
downloaded in June my Canned Heat compilation "Tracks" already have nearly half of the tracks here, but these tracks were remastered in a different way from my own tape & here's the complete performance, from a different source!

CANNED HEAT's Club performance here is kind of rough and unpolished, but full of "Heat" and some tracks here are standing clearly in the tradition of the great "Blues Shouters" as Howlin Wolf or Big Joe Turner! The general quality is great, but on some tracks the Bear's vocals are quite oversaturated! I did my best to polish this & also used the better channel (with less dropouts) of this mono sbd recording!

Notes from Lost In the Flood:

US-only promotional release. A-side contains album selections from "The Ghost Of Tom Joad" interspersed with segments from an interview with Bob Costas; B-side includes a total of ten live tracks taped at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania on December 8/9, 1995 (five of which were never made available in commercial form). Black-and-white picture inlay card. Very rare.

This is a VERY RARE tape, many bootleggers have been searching for many years, and finally, thanks to SITGES, has seen the light!! This audio contains some songs that were then used for the original singles of the period, therefore, before uploading, i asked permission to Claudio. I hope to have done the right thing to enrich your collections with a jewel!!
