Bob Dylan & The Band - 1974-01-06 - Philadelphia, PA (AUD/FLAC)

(Exc aud FLAC)

The Spectrum

6th January 1974 [Evening show]

Lineage:
<<thanks LK>> Master tape > CD > EAC > CoolEdit 2000 > minimal NR > Flac.

FFP matches Disc one of LosslessBob LB-2638 described as "very good sound ". Some filesets circulated without The Band's second set. As indicated on LB-2638, md5 and ffp for disc 2 have 10 tracks [minus The Band's second set] and not 14 [with The Band's second set]. This version iincludes The Band's second set.

Fix: WAV > Wave Repair 4.9.3 removed leading/trailing digital silences begnining and end of CDs. Fixed minor index clicks on Disc 2. Flaws reported on DFF on d1t8 are mic bumps. Those reported for d2t5 is noise [possibly venue] > FLAC, sector align.

Notes:
Another outstanding find by tattooDad and his uber project. This soundboard is in pristine condition and the recording is beyond excellent for something over 34 years old. The original seeder, IvanNF @ Jungleland, did a quick comparison to the "Introducing Rosie" bootleg (complete audience recording of the same show) and the difference is night and day. Although the "Introducing Rosie" boot is the complete show from that night, this starts out about halfway through. Hopefully someday soon we will get this entire show and the evening before in the same quality. Kudos once again to tattooDad and thanks to the uber that let this go.

This is originally from the Bjork Hub, and one of my favorite periods, just herself, Mark Bell, the Icelandic String Quarter and a complete show in Iceland, of course. It contains all the madness that is a Bjork show from the Homogenous Tour. Camera work, colors, and sound are all well done---an excellent document.

Notes:
Here you have the long awaited previously unreleased whisky a go go show from 5th jan 1969. this is the cd version. i would rate it a very good audience recording, especially for the time.

The group is billed with Alice Cooper as opening act, which lists them as: "Led Zeppelin featuring Jimmy Page, formerly of the Yardbirds". Upon their arrival to California, Page suffers from a fever and is forced to eliminate the 2nd set from these series of shows.

Notes by the trader:
Ok... Hi again folks. I had heard of this very early Steve Miller Band B&W video before but had never seen it available in trade circulation at any time. And, I had heard that the actual performance was what had mattered the most about this one really. Well, now I finally got it into my hands and, of course, the performance is totally smoking for sure. But, the video ain't all that bad... considering that this was just an in-house archival video that was shot in the most basic of ways and not even considering the actual release of this to be seen to the gereral public at all. Along with the inadequate lighting in general, and the light oversaturation at some times and the audio line static that occasionally pops up briefly, there are some obvious edits in the video along the way. And the main one of those is, of course, before the band comes back out for the encores. With all of that... I have to say that this is still just incredibly enjoyable to watch. But, Hey... that might just be me, as I have been a big fan of this guy for decades now. Oh yes... before I forget, I have to thank sam1776 for all of his great uploads, and for eventually leading me to obtaining this for myself. Ok... this is what it is... and now you know what it is, so download away if you wish. Remember this was NOT filmed or recorded in any manner that was intended to be an actual commercial release, this was simply a way to have an archival record for BGP to have an artifact for their own recorded archives. But, even with inadequate film lighting, shoestring B&W film stock used and just little more than amatuer production values implemented... these videos are now considered to be time-capsule treasures by many. Plus, of course... they just fucking rock!! I think you will not be disappointed at all if you do choose to download this legendary Steve Miller Band show for your collection. Enjoy...
