The original lossless files were cleaned and a bit remastered. There is still some nice noticeable, but getting rid of all of it would have meant getting a metallic sound. Very early of the SWW tour and Jon's voice isn't that shot yet, he puts down some damn cool screams near the end of "Runaway"!
