Comments:
Excellent recording, and a very interesting look into the rehearsals for Robert Plant's upcoming second solo tour. This features a pretty even mix of songs from his first three albums with the "Honeydrippers" material he dropped into the middle of the set, complete with a horn section. The "Honeydrippers Vol. 1" album was actually significantly outperforming his original material on the charts at the time, so Percy compensated by playing a healthy mix of songs from the EP -- including a couple covers that weren't actually on the album. To my knowledge, "Once I Had a Girl" never saw the light of day in a live setting, which makes this set a rarity in itself.
This recording caused quite a stir when it surfaced in trading circles in the late 1980s; now it's more of a quaint novelty. Well worth having if you're even a casual Zeppelin fan, and a must-have if you're a completist.
