this is from the rebroadcast and also includes the full concert, direct from the master cassette recorded off the radio. quality is excellent and nothing is interrupted. some samples are attached in the comments for you to compare, if you've heard the previously posted version. it was 35 years ago, maybe the last really good Aerosmith concert in Boston...
before they fell off the edge of a flat earth.
A Smith and Jones production.
(where we jones for old smith every night and day.)
category : ROCK (NOT pop, glam or top 40 schlock for this one.)
comments:
this show was originally broadcasted live as it happened on WBCN radio. It was a high energy show from their tour of "draw the line", their 5th album. The Music Hall was sold out for this concert and the crowd was really pumped (even though the "pump" album didn't come until several years later). the rebroadcast had some of the before, between and after song announcer talk edited out but all the songs are complete. there were a few FM radio shows from this tour but this may be the hottest show. Aerosmith back in Boston again. this was the last really good performance I've heard of them. I wasn't much impressed with alot of their songs after the 1st 3 albums, except a few on "rocks" but they seemed to focus on the earlier songs in this show."Rocks" isn't just the name of an Aerosmith album and national tour. It's what they do, and used to do alot, until they decided to become a top 40 glam-pop band. some folks may like that too, but this is what Aerosmith is all about. Rockin' out. They didn't even play Dream On!(that's only their Stairway to Heaven!) Now, that's real rocker class, imho. It's a good song, but after 10,000 plays it just doesn't have that "gusto" any more...they didn't leave out many of their rocker hits, like sweet emotion, toys in the attic, same old song and dance, and lord of the thighs.this show is good for blowing some old crummy speakers, annoying some bad neighbors, or just kicking out the jams after your team just lost, 37-0.
