Geetarz Comments:
EC begins the set having problems with feedback from the PA system, shouting "feedback!" several times. EC tosses in a few verses of "Sweet Little Liza" during "Little Rachel". This disc is noteworthy for a rare (if drunken) performance of "Honey Bee". Last but not least, EC throws in "I get around" during the chorus of "Mainline Florida" (I'll bet he did back in those days!). I have not directly compared the sound quality with that found on the Be Twisted label release of this perfomance, entitled "A Drunkard's Night".  Feedback welcome in this case!

SWR 2 FM broadcast (SWR Jazz Session: Aus dem Archiv, 2005/06/16)

Original note: I missed the first 20 minutes of the broadcast due to a technical problem (not mine - no radio signal).

this version to suffer from a lot of DC offset which moreover varies between tracks, causing nasty clicks at the start and end of files during playback and unnecessarily reducing headroom. I corrected this (using Sound Studio) and made a few very short crossfades during the applause to compensate for the remaining unevennesses.

This concert may have been a one-off tour of Japan, as the Headhunters had disbanded at this point. However the concert came to be, it's excellent, and since it has been off the tracker for about two years, I thought it was ripe for revival.

This is an upgrade from my old NTSC ACL. I've added separately and without changing the original characteristics of each of them, a British television 1982 broadcast with a clear improvement in the quality of audio and video. Previously uploaded by "janedw".
I stand by the original American NTSC because the full show, but lacks the first seconds of Two More Bottles Of Wine.
The British television broadcasting, is of better quality, but ends with Born To Run and it does not contain the final numbers of the show.
British broadcast also contains The Russell Harty Show 1982.

So, I think putting the two broadcasts separately is the only way to maintain the original features of both.

This is another along with Musikladen and Old Grey Whistle Test '77, and Nash Ramblers and
Spyboy times, one of my favorite Emmylou shows. The quality isn't good, perhaps there should be
another source of better quality, but I've never seen.
Yet this show has something that sets it apart from all others, it has a special vibration
atmosphere (perhaps the wind?) and even the Emmylou makeup is different and special ha ha.But
the most appreciation in this is the final medley...If you would like to see Emmylou Rockabilly
... here you are!,
Incredible power and energy, and the voice even with its top faculty.
The Hot Band is the second to third stage, and although I prefer the 70's ..this, of course
still sounds amazing.

I got my cass copy of this show within a week of the show. Got mine from Steve and he got his from Nadia. Hers could have been a 1st gen sbd. I played back my copy on my Nak CR-5A on normal bias and EQ setting and adjusted the azimith. The audience u hear is thru Stipes mic, most of the crowd was jammed close to the stage. Back by the sbd it was wide open allowing me to dance 20 yards in any direction, which i did. What a show. Maybe someday the Boys will give us a pristine copy.

Note that the last three tracks of disc two (which comprise the encore in full) are not from the master soundboard source. They are in mono, but from a direct source nonetheless. It's likely they originate from an in-house video soundtrack, though I can't confirm this.

With the above caveat out of the way, it's an absolute pleasure to present another blistering show from the 2000 tour in pristine quality. What separates this recording from many others is that it hasn't been widely circulated. I'm pleased to present, for quite likely the first time in public domain, this wonderful show...and what better venue for its release than a site sanctioned by Pete Townshend himself. Those who have heard this show already know what a treat it is; those who will be hearing it for the first time will no doubt enjoy it time and time again. It's simply another rare gem that is finally, and rightfully, seeing the light of day. As always, enjoy!!!
