Notes:
I was provided two 16mm film reels of the Beatles' Washington D.C. Coliseum Concert. As we know, at that time, the film print copies of the concert were made. I've got one of them. And then, I tried to transfer it into Digital Tele-Cine. So a result is this. For the picture quality, the Digital Tele-Cine technology seemd to work well. I like this version of transfer. And I have to say thank you Mr.Wogew. He made a splendid artwork for this. Thank you Mr.Al. He provided a film reel for me. Also, Thank you Mr.Murray, Mr.Shiro, and Nami.

The 1971 tour of Japan in my opinion is the mighty Zeppelin at the peak of its powers.  These are ALL audience recordings, with sound ranging from fair to great.  More detailed information on the shows can be found at the bible of Led Zeppelin live information, the excellent "Underground Uprising" website, starting here:

http://www.uuweb.led-zeppelin.us/1971.htm

I think this is a great collection, and would really be enthralled if Messrs. Page, Plant, & Jones would consider releasing some of these shows officially.

Some notes from the taper:
These two shows at the Bowery on the Lower East Side of Manhattan recieved very little publicity, if any at all. If memory serves me right, these were the first shows where Lou was testing out the band that is essentially his current configuration. (The Kung fu guy was not a part of this group as of this time.) The setlists show that there were only a few songs different between the two nights, but at least to me, you could notice that each nights performance was slightly different. I enjoyed both nights and believe that to enjoy either night, you have to listen to the other nights performance.

For those who don't know the Bowery Ballroom is a small place, roughly half of the size of your average high school gymnasium's basketball court, a stage is at the end, there is a small balcony with a few tables that runs around the three walls opposite the stage. I would say there were no more than 200-300 people in attedance for each of these shows. I made these recordings from the middle of the floor, dead to center. The soundboard was behind me, in the upper left corner of the balcony as you go up and over my left shoulder as I faced the stage.

U2 - 1998-02-11 - Santiago, CL (2xDVDfull pro-shot)

(2xDVDfull pro-shot)

First let me explain you which are all the most circulating versions of this fabulous proshot :

about this time I was not as much "hard with myself" for synchronization, and my audio sync was not perfect . By unluck, Apocalypse Sound had the "good" idea to release a silver DVD of my version, so all on 1  dvd9 , but they also  kept the sync problem !!
The guy here called All_I_Need created a new version, with same video, and same audio, but with synchro ok ! But he put all on 1 dvd5 so he decreased video quality . More recently he created a new version remixed with Fradoca remaster, but one more time on 1 dvd-r so video quality decreased ...

This is the best version for video quality for this show , the longest, and with 2 audio tracks with synchro OK !

So infact it's the version to keep .... lol !!

I want to thanx Asterix9500 for giving me the chilean TVN master versin, & Zbych for authorising me to share the rare but simply perfect Betacam master version !!

Many versions of this dvd are circulating:

* the most current is the "Justin " version, coming from a 2nd generation vhs, with a not very good image but a great great sound quality ("virtually flawless", like Justin said, and he is right !!!) ! The broadcast is almost complete, only missing the end of "WTSHNN"(recently shared here I believe)

* a 1st generation (said master but I believe it's at best 1st gen) coming on 1 dvd, better image than Justin version, but still not perfect, brighntess & contrast are not optimal. The broadcast is complete

* a betacam master version (Betacam Master Tapes > DVD [Pre-Broadcast - "Please" from MasterTV VHS ] ) , coming on 2 dvd, with a very good sound and ... an absolutely perfect image quality ! this one is the best dvd bootleg I've ever seen but its problem is : it's really not complete ! "Please" is missing (even if a bad version from 1st gen (master ?? so a bad master .. ) is added, it's not a really good version) , and Introduction, end of WTSHHN, intermission between wowy & "Hold me thrill me" , and outroduction are missing too .... that's why I've worked on it

* and an other 2 dvd version, coming from master Chilean TVN channel :
video : master recorded with betamax sony
audio : master recorded with minidisc JVC
are the original from TVN ( tvn = television nacional de chile)
edited and mixed by Rodrigo Masferrer and Oliver Serrano ;
not as good as the betacam master version , but it's the best COMPLETE version circulating, no one of the other is as long as this one !

That's why I've decided to work on this to make an ideal DVD with all these versions, to make 1 optimal version (until we have a Betacam master COMPLETE version to be released LOL)

Most of the video is coming from the betacam master version, except Introduction / Please / End of "Where the streets have no name" & beggining of Lemon / Intermission wowy-Hold me / end (the last seconds) which are coming from the Chilean TVN master. The difference is clear, so you'll see when the version changes, but I hope you won't be too disappointed ...

For the sound stream, i've used the one coming from 2nd gen vhs from Justin ( because after comparating them all, it's still the best one ) , except for the end of "WTSHHN" because it was not broadcasted on the Justin version, so I've added the sound of the chilean TVN master (we can hear a change of sound, but it's not really a problem). It's an ac3 source, don't be angry, it's the best you've ever heard ;-)
I've added a 2nd audio stream availabe : the Fradoca remaster

Geetarz Comments:
The early 1990s were an amazing run for Clapton, with the growth of the Royal Albert Hall shows, constant touring, and seemingly inexhaustible exposure.

Starting in 1990, "blues only" nights were a part of the Albert runs, and hugely popular with diehard fans. But EC's management and label resisted the idea of progressing any further in that direction.

After the huge critical and commercial success of "Unplugged", Clapton was freed to pursue other directions, which eventually led to the "blues tours" in 1994 and 1995.

The 1993 shows were a fascinating melange of classic rock, pop, and hard blues. If you're one of those people who listens to "good music" no matter what the genre, the 1993 shows are probably the most accessible EC ever did live.

In the fall of 1993, EC went to Japan, where the audiences are deeply respectful and appreciative - the perfect crowd for this fusion of old and new.

The sets began quietly, with acoustic blues, veering from the Delta sounds to the sounds of electric Chicago blues, and then coming to the fire and fury of 1960s British Blues, with "White Room" and "Badge". After a breather of "Wonderful Tonight" (a perennial Clapton Speed Bump in most sets) there comes EC's unhinged rendition of Hendrix' "Stone Free".

After a more modern pop / AOR break with "Circus" and "Tears in Heaven", the band breaks into a funky reworking of "Crossroads", the 1980s hit pop single "Tearing Us Apart", then digging deep into the blues with "Groaning the Blues".

As if this set didn't cover enough musical decades, next we have EC's 1970s version of "Cocaine", with a new feel for the 1990s, Bessie Smith's 1920s "Ain't Nobody's Business", and then closing with those Seven Incredible Notes, "Layla" ... themselves taken from Albert King's "As the Years Go Passing By".

Basically, this set is like a Graduate Level course in the history of the blues, taught by one of its best students.

The 3BR version is a remastered version of the Mid Valley release "Into the Fire". This wasn't some quickie "tweak" job, as The Professor reportedly spent 50+ hours on this recording (I heard, he liked it! haha). The important thing, check it out and let YOUR ears be the judge.

Even if you already have a copy of this title, this may be a nice upgrade for you, direct from the masters with known lineage.

Also, the original scans I did "back in the day" weren't very good (because my scanner, wasn't very good) so for this torrent I have included new scans at 300 DPI.

Of course, EAC logs and checksums included.

There's been a lot of discussion lately about what is "essential" Clapton, and I'm really glad this has come up. It's so easy for those of us who are familiar with an artist to lose track of what's essential, and accessible to everyone, not just diehard fans.

Original notes (from yogilou)
This show has been posted before, although this version has 3 additional songs (The Bitch is Back, All's Quiet on the Western Front, and the closing Medley-Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' on/I Saw Her Standing There/Twist and Shout). In addition, this is a first generation recording. In the fall of 1982, a college friend (thanks Dave R.) spent a semester studying in London and recorded this for me when it was originally broadcast on the BBC.I have not heard the previous version that was posted (thanks Ryan for the original post), but based on the above facts I felt it was reasonable to assume that this is at least equal to what has been presented before, and has the extra tracks. I have also obtained the video of this show recently and will most likely be posting the DVD as well. This is an excellent performance, and has definately not been overdubbed (check out Davey's opening riff on Saturday Night's Alright, it is kind of painful!).
