The Who - New Years Eve (SBD/FLAC)

(Soundboard FLAC)

Label - Fire Power FP-015
Original CD > EAC > FLAC
ffp & logfiles included / Md5 added.
Quality: VG SBD (Stereo)

Venue:
Tracks 01-02: BBC Television Centre, London "Lulu" TV Show, Wednesday,
December 30, 1970
Tracks 03-06 - Pete Townshend Demos (not found on official releases, i.e. SCOOP, Tommy Deluxe Edition)
Tracks 07-13: BBC 1 Top Of The Pops Into 71, broadcast on December 31, 1970.
Recording: BBC Television & Sound board
Comments: The Lulu Show songs are a bit weak in performance and the rest of the
CD is comprised of Tommy demos and rehearsals. Apart from the Lulu tracks, this
is an interesting CD. Tracks 3-6 appear to be identical to other Tommy Demos
tracks. However, Tracks 7-13 appear to be WHO rehearsals featuring Roger Daltrey
on vocals. Track 7 cuts in immediately before the verse. The track venues listed
above were referenced from The Who Concert File book, (p.71).

Clementine Jam (false start, amp dies)

It has been said that fan-base hater and all-around loser Todd Rundgren (getting used to oblivion over there, Toddy boy?) went to the Guinness Book Of Records in order to secure the spot for the longest-playing vinyl album. Well, I'm happy to say he's been surpassed... by a bootleg. Sweet justice, it's DA DEAD! Three of the four sides here top 41 minutes. Each that is, giving new meaning to the words "Long Playing Record". You will need to make extra space for this one. In fact, you might want to use a separate CD for each side. More on that in a moment.

First of all I want to thank Lossless Legs member Andy1099 for shipping me these LPs all the way across the pond. I've been wanting to hear them for the longest time; you will also really like this music even if you don't normally care for the Dead. This album is labeled "Mickey Hart And The Heart Beats (Grateful Dead) Living On The Edge 1968 California". It consists of two different sets from when the Dead were very young. The sound quality is amazingly good considering the length of the record sides. Lots and lots of jamming here, so much in fact that this two-record set is mostly instrumental. Many thanks to LL member fangedesire for the following information, as well as the sources and correct track information: There are no commercial releases at all from these sets of music. The October 8th portion appears to be an upgrade from the commonly-available source material.

So with all of that in mind and due to the extreme length of this album as a whole, I've given each side its own directory folder and have only generally broken the songs up. Original cover art for the lps courtesy of LL member marcap.
