Notes
It was a very warm day of this show, and the "Carrier Dome" (Carrier Air-Conditioners) is not air conditioned...so it was a bit warm inside. Luckly I was able to get tickets on the floor just (25') to the stage left of the soundboard...so we had good sound, and it wasn't nearly as warm as in the upper deck I'm sure. I believe I am recorder 2 of this show.

The Cure - 1980-10-xx - Belgium (SBD/FLAC)

(Soundboard FLAC)

This one is pretty rare. I got it on a trade years ago, and here's the info I found on it on this GREAT site: http://www.cure-concerts.de

The story says that Smith made a mix-tapes for a belgian fan (a mix from 3 belgian concerts (to my point of view from 2 concerts, cos' we have the debut from one concert & the end from another one !)

Nick & Quick was the result of a short collaboration between the QMS without Gary Duncan and Nick Gravenites. It happened in 1969. This recording had been around but never from the master and always partial and with the wrong set list order. This is the John's master of it.

Huge thanks to Dime member Vierstein91 for giving me the ticket on the day of the show - I was in for a treat, after having little exposure to Dead Can Dance before this. Hope your cough is gone, mate. I owe you one!

I must also thank ianmacd for generously recording and sharing DCD shows from his 2012 Europe-wide trek. From his colorful descriptions and true dedication I gained valuable insight into both the music and the musicians. I liked what I heard and was looking forward to the live Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard experience.

On the night there were no disappointments apart from the slow pre-show ticket checks (which caused me to miss the beginning of the first song). Hear for yourself how Brendan and Lisa with a five-piece band filled the Concert Hall with their unique blend of eastern and western music. The audience had the best manners I've come across in a long time, their silence broken by enthusiastic applause after most songs. The performers clearly enjoyed the rapt attention that flowed their way - so much they gave us three encores! And I came home with a recording I'm proud of - from the best seat I've ever had at the Opera House.

Notes:

Originally released as a Japanese import bootleg DVD and claiming to be from 1973-1976, it turns out these performances are from just two episodes in 1973 and 1974. Some costume changes may throw ya, as well as the fact that James blows through old and new songs and varied styles it may seem to be 3 years in the making, but alas, this is the correct info…Hell most entertainers don’t even change this much in 3 years, James was doing all this in the span of ONE!...
