NOTES:
- please check the screenshot before you decide to download. the picture quality is nothing like today's hd standard, but that's the way the original recording is, a little shaky and a little out-of-focus every once in a while. i must admit that i have no idea why the screenshot shows visible fine horizontal lines. play-back of this dvd on tv won't show them for whatever reason.
- after i uploaded the audio/fm part (Torrent #370298 The Band - pittsburg , 01 november 1970 , fm re-broadcast master) and mentioned this vhs tape, some members said that - for legal reasons - it would not be suitable on dime. i contacted the dime mods and they gave me permission to upload.
- btw > the same vhs tape also has some nice vpro tv footage of steve miller, soft machine and the bonzos. if there is anybody out there who ...

This was the first time I ever saw Blackmore. I know a lot of people think this version of the band were on the downturn by this point, but it was a truly awesome evening for me as a spotty faced 16 year old. I've attached a scan of my ticket stub in the comments for any collectors. This gig was also the 2nd of 2 nights the band played at the City Hall. A recording of the previous night has been shared here at least twice already. I was going to reseed the version I got from DIME, but unfortunately it looks like it's undergone so much noise reduction that it would be banned for being lossy!

Notes by the uploader:
I repaired numerous problems: The show was segmented into eight tracks, with Pyscho Killer cut into two tracks. I combined it all into one wav-file with WavMerge. The recording was way too fast, so I used Soundforge to slow it all down by 0.8 semitones to get it back in pitch. There were big silent gaps where the old track ID's had been. I used Soundforge to smooth those out, plus added fades where needed. The beginning of "Who Is It?" is clipped due to one of the silent gaps. here is a cut in "Psycho Killer" (at 3:45). This corresponds to approx 45 minutes into the show, so I presume it's where the master tape was flipped. There's some hiss and tape surface noise, which I left as-is. Made new track-ID's with CD-Wave Editor, and verified SBE-OK and made checksums with Trader's Little Helper.

Van Morrison - Bottom Line In NYC 78 - Flawless, Complete and Upgraded
Many different version of this boot are circulating. The ones i used for this complete set was the best i found :
I first worked on both the early and late shows from this vine, and was ready to upload my torrent, when Nevinsrip uploaded another version of the late show. I downloaded it and found out that, though its sound was rather muffled, it happened to be a better source for a "remaster" ; it probably came through a low number of analog generation, and was "raw" enough, when the vine source suffers from a rather exagerate equalisation, Van's voice sounding lass natural, somehow into-the-box (this is a personal opinion and you may prefer the "vined" version). So i started again the whole job for the late show, one of the reason why it took me such a long time since i promessed it. Thanks to the guys who PMed me many times, and gave me encouragements !
Flawless : None of the version from this shows i ever heared were absolutly clean, i always had to complain about many diginoises. I can't be absolutly affirmative but i wouldn't be surprised to find them on the source silver CDs, and further on any version circulating.
The late show recently torrented has also big noises in some tracks, resulting in some awfull scratches.
As usual, i repaired all the files redrawing some samples at each flaw i could find. 100% hand-made work, no general filter applyed.
Complete : For the very first time, you'll find here the real complete late show. I reintroduced the "Tupelo Honey" that Van played in the early show. As far as i know, no circulating bootled have it ! This unique track comes from a rare radio broadcast of the early show, recorded on a tape and unearthed more than 20 years later that was torrented on a defunct tracker about one year ago, thanks to whoever offered it. The sound quality of this track is of course very different from the other ones, but i did my best to correct it so it sounds similar to the rest as close as possible.
Upgraded : I performed some correction on this boot in order to enhance its sound quality. I didn't modify a lot the early show, i just tryed to give it some more "presence". The late show is much more "remastered" (sorry Bert, i don't know other term to tell it).
I hope nobody will be shocked by this work, though i know that some nitpickers will pretend that working on CDR sourced files, even from a vine, was bullshit, and that i should have prostituate myself in order to obtain the genuine pre-FM reel tapes. I tryed, sir, i tryed. But the radio director told me that he had no sexual attraction for the four-eyed freaks.

Comments:
I ran across this one tonight on an archive spindle and since I just posted the Halloween show today, thought it might be helpful to share the second night in Dallas as well. This was shared on Dime in October 2005 by Dime user "Snapps" -- many thanks to him/her for the original share. It appears there have been at least two bootleg releases of this show that have run on Dime ("Executive Action" and "Crossfire Hurricane"); I'm not sure how this compares, but by all means if you have one of those titles feel free to share it here for comparison.
The second night here has the identical setlist to the prior night, and to most of the tour. Most of these shows were relatively stagnant in terms of setlist, but the performances were generally high-energy though (in my opinion) kind of sloppy. I'm not a fan of Mick's vocals on this tour, but the setlists were great. This tour certainly helped to establish their reputation as one of the best live acts around, and one of the top acts of their generation.
Sound quality is very good, perhaps not quite as powerful on the low end, and features an overall good mix. Hopefully this will fill a gap for some collectors.
If you are a Stones fan, chances are you already know what you'll find here -- a mix of newer songs and deep tracks in the first hour, followed by Keith's mini-set (on this tour, only one song) and a greatest-hits selection to close the show. I haven't listened to this one in depth, so perhaps others can comment on how this performance compares to other nearby dates on the tour. It recently dropped off the tracker after its most recent (2011) posting, so I thought I'd toss this up during the free-leech period for the voracious Stones collectors who don't have it.

original seeder's notes:
I bought this disc from someone who was selling radio shows a few years back.I can't confirm if this was ever broadcast. I couldn't pass on any Grand Funk and took a chance. This is a great sounding show and the band is in fine form. Original bass player Mel Schacher is replaced by Dennis Bellinger. Mark Farner on guitar and Don Brewer on drums.

reseed:
FLAC>WAV>channel conversion and volume adjustments>FLAC-8
remixed to correct volume and phase imbalance:
original stereo files were very loud in the right channel, the left channel was out of phase and nearly inaudible. I lowered the volume a little on the right and raised it on the left, then converted those files to 1-track mono and back to stereo: 2-track mono. No EQ, normalizing, WD-40 or other stuff applied.
There are instances of distortion in the guitar and keyboards in a few places and a bit of radio interference appears in track 7.

Audio Quality: Fm = C+, Audience = C-- > There are audio dropouts and inconsistent sound quality. Also, some songs
start abruptly due to the commercials being cut out. Audio quality varies between SB and audience as well as during SB songs there is variation. Even though this is mostly Fm, there are some sound issues with this. If no better source becomes available I might try to work on this one to improve it if possible.
Overall, it is not to bad and is reasonably listenable throughout but only worthy of a C+ at best in my opinion.

A superb sounding SBD with a few flaws which I fixed, with the agreement of orignal poster 'logon2'.
Apparently this was a very rainy evening. On track 01/Disc 1 you can hear the delicate sound of thunder in the background and Gilmour makes comments on the weather. Almost makes you glad you weren't there...almost :-)
