NTSC when Martin Barre solo is cut short (like in the so called 76 minute version).
DVD come with a very basic MENU and it is track indexed.
DVD cover art is the same as the 76 version Benefit cover

What's different here than in the previous versions of this show?

1 - Audio & Video Quality is awesome and there IS NOT the annoying TIME CODE; it is actually missing, not covered/ cut-out like in the version contained into the The Minstrel Looks Back 1969-1977 2-DVD set

2- We all know about the 55 minutes version which comes with the BENEFIT LP customized cover art; then, we all know about the 76 minutes version which comes out with the same cover art stating also "76 minutes version"; I made a short comparison and found out the so called 76 min version (the one I own is where the last 20 minutes come with the logo BGP archives) starts with audience footage for about 1"30" then the band walks on stage, that is the point where this NO-TIME-CODE-VERSION starts.

Total Running Time: 1h 32m 22s

Notes:
One half has a timecode & "Bill Graham Presents" written on the screen; the other half does not, but is of lesser quality.

0:00:00 to 0:52:38 - Timecoded
0:52:38 to 1:32:22 - No Timecode

Cover art states 120 minutes.  DVD actually only last approximately 92 minutes.
The sound fluctuates on occasions; bassy in places; trebly in others; sometimes distorted.
The timecoded footage is from a different source to that of the Mad Raving Stark version; the actual timecode is different.  The un-timecoded section may or may not be from the same source.
There is more of an intro on the HiWatt version (approximately 9 seconds more).  The timecode on the HiWatt version is less obstrusive on the screen.  Mad Raving Stark's version has MPEG-1 Layer 2 audio (48khz, 384kbps); HiWatt's version is AC3 (48khz, 448kbps). HiWatt's version includes some of "Christmas" and all of "The Acid Queen"; Mad Raving Stark's version does not have any footage of "Christmas" at all and cuts in during "The Acid Queen".
The non-timecoded footage is better in video quality on the HiWatt version.  The timecoded footage is only slightly better on the HiWatt version, however with the timecode being less obtrusive it is nicer to watch.  The audio is richer/louder on the Mad Raving Stark version, but from an audiophile point of view, not necessarily better.

total DVD length.....82 minutes

after the Santana Tokyo 1973 transfered from VHS tape was uploaded to dimeadozen in march 2010 a member contacted me they had a shorter but better quality disc they bought on ebay and mailed me a copy and I saw that it has better picture quality, no picture drop outs and does not have the DEPAS onscreen logo, not A+ mint but much better than the old uploaded version
I rate this new version as an A ......... this is an UPGRADE to the previous upload

Santana at the Budokan in Tokyo Japan from the concert there on July 7, 1973 they played there the 6th & 7th (the 7th is most likely date they were filmed for TV) this is from a broadcast in 1993 shown in 2 parts

The end credits of Part one and the 1st minute of "Mantra" and the last song Toussaint L’Overture were taken from the previous version using tmpg-mpg editor and patched in without any re-encoding the new menu is slightly different. the disc 200 meg larger than the previous upload this is due to a slightly higher bitrate of the better quality disc

05 - Castillos de Arena ....... the screen wrongly says " Swallow "
07 - Incident At Neshabur also includes parts of "My Favourite Things" & " Fool on the Hill "
11 - Free Angela .............. the screen wrongly says " Sanba De Sausa Rito "

07 - Incident At Neshabur ......in Tokyo near the end they play a few minutes of the end part of
" Let us Go into The House of the Lord " very much like the way it was recorded with John McLaughlin
but in Osaka it is very different and hard to even tell that they are even attempting that song
and it explains why you can see Tom Coster give Carlos a big grin when this time they nail it
(the part they play is on the Love Devotion Surrender CD from 13'10" to the end).

I've never heard a Santana show where he follows the recorded version so closely and although it's only the end part it was great to see on this video Carlos Santana, Armando Peraza, Doug Rauch who in 6 weeks time joined Mahavishnu John McLaughlin, Billy Cobham, and Larry Young on the tour to promote the recently released "Love Devotion Surrender LP"

Release Notes:
Around the JEMS offices, they are collectively referred to as the Big Five. I'm talking of course about the five live radio broadcasts from the Darkness tour. Since the start of the bootleg CD era, the Big Five have been released multiple times and the torrent era is no different. Until 2011, the weak sister in the bunch (apologies, girls) was clearly Atlanta, but JEMS' pre-FM upgrade changed that in a big way, as most of the show is now as good if not better than the best '78 FMs.

Now the distinction of weakest falls to The Roxy, July 7, 1978. Whereas there are pre-FM sources for Cleveland, Winterland and the aforementioned Atlanta, Passaic and the Roxy exist only from off-air recordings, and, for whatever reason, 9/19/78 has always sounded better than 7/7/78. When we sourced the new version of Atlanta, the same cache of tapes included cassettes and studio reels of The Roxy that we thought might prove to be pre-FMs but, alas, they too were off air. Still, we thought they could be an upgrade to the best extant version of the show, which, depending on your tastes, is either Ev2's No Private Party or Crystal Cat's Roxy Night.

Our project was well underway when we remembered an old set of reels we had obtained from a friend who was getting rid of his collection almost 20 years ago. Those reels include a note to our friend from the person who recorded the show off-air dated July 17, 1978, less than two weeks after the broadcast, so this is a first generation copy made at the time. The good news is this copy was recorded at 7-1/2 IPS (inches per second) from a master recorded at the same speed. Why is this important? Well, compared to a standard cassette which runs at 1-7/8 IPS and is an 1/8 of an inch wide, a 1/4-inch reel running at 7-1/2 has 8x as much tape surface to capture the recording. More tape, more accurate recording.

So, unlike most Roxy '78 releases and torrents, this is a fresh transfer of a new, uncirculated, source tape, not a remaster of extant sources. It has also been speed corrected (Roxy Night has pitch issues). We would characterize it as a modest but material upgrade, but you should make your own choice. It's not a leap like Atlanta, but if you like a more natural sound, this might prove pleasing. Samples provided.

Thanks to our old friend P for the reels all those years ago. Thanks also to Flynn, who has made this show his mission to improve. We continue to value his contributions to getting JEMS titles out there.

I stumbled onto this when going to play Welcome To The Club. Just did a rip and thought I'd share. Like most vinyl boots it's a bit of a mess - first side was half the volume of second side so I raised levels on first side. Last two songs not complete. Record actually had a full version of George Thorogood doing It Wasn't me at end of side 1 - that's not included lol. Decent FM - far from stellar but hi, it's Hunter & Ronson and there's two songs not on WTTC.

Original Note from fixed version:
This differs slightly from the original seed of this gig. Some glitches were corrected, a TAO gap in the original source was removed, and the levels have been corrected as well (too low in the original seed). It's strongly suggested you download this even if you pulled the original down earlier.

Original seeder Notes:
Another glorious SBD recording of mid-80s New Order, this time from Barcelona, Spain. Lineage is the same stash-o-soundboards from (most likely) Hooky's Suite 16 recording studio, liberated by Brian Whittaker (Revenge touring bassist) via eBay, but previous to selling
copied amongst the NO trading community in the UK.

From a post by OldMonkey on STG:
"A box of mixing desk tapes was found in a rehearsal studio used by Peter Hook. They were advertised on E-bay by Brian Whittaker, former Revenge live guitarist. David Sultan of the website "World in Motion" paid over £500 to win the auction. Before they were sent to David though, they were copied amongst the Manchester bootlegging fraternity, and are now widely available in the UK and wider. Coincidentally (or otherwise, and this is where it gets good), the majority of the shows in this box were the complete gigs from the tracks used on the live disc of Retro (plus quite a few other gigs). It appears as though Hooky meant for them to find their way to the bootleg hardcore......."
