Great show by Robert and The Sensational Space Shifters really enjoyed it! Incomplete show, complete broadcast, with interviews intercut between the live segments. Commonly misdated and mislocated as October 11, 2001, in Niagara Falls, NY. From late September to mid October, the band cancelled 10 previously scheduled shows due to the September 11th terrorist attacks, which would prove the October 11th date as invalid, as the band was originally scheduled to open for Aerosmith in Calgary, Alberta, Canada on this date. Daxx Nielsen temporarily fills in for Bun E. Carlos, as he was recovering from back surgery at the time.

Started off as a good day when the UPS guy delivered my new microphones just in time to get everything ready to go to the show. Was a little worried as I did not have a lot of time to test out the mics before I had to leave for the show. The show was not sold out and I had 4 empty seats to my left so I eventually moved to those seats and was able to comfortably monitor the levels and get them adjusted. I think the recording came out really good. I also got some Hyper Card elements too. I will try them sometime soon but for now I am happy with the mics.

The show itself was great. Steve Howe was the most impressive of the group, he never fails to impress me. I thought Jon Davison did an admirable job as well. When I first heard about this tour I thought .... "Why Going For The One?" but I have to say I have a much deeper apreciation for that album now. I always liked Wonderous Stories, but had not paid real close attention to the rest of the album. My mistake... it is realy much better than I remembered it to be. There was an intermission between Close to the Edge and Going for the One. I cut out that intermission and spliced the very begining of the Going For The One set to the end of Siberian Khatru. You can hear the cut for that split second as they don't match perfectly but it is audience noise so you have all the music intact.

- There’s a short scratching noise in track 6 at approx. 4:43 min.
- There is a short fade-out after track 7 (The Easy Blues), probably the taper edited some presenter’s comments there. (This is a good point to split the recording if you want to burn this to 2 disks.)
- This is another recording I originally received from Harald B., who seems to have captured many shows from Bavarian radio everybody else has missed! Thanks a lot!

Notes:
I love this recording. This is an unprocessed transfer from a DAT(4) of a 1st Gen cassette copy. I've left nothing out of this transfer. The silences at the start of each show comprise the 1st Gen hiss present on the DAT before the content starts... these things are important!

Notes
It was a very warm day of this show, and the "Carrier Dome" (Carrier Air-Conditioners) is not air conditioned...so it was a bit warm inside. Luckly I was able to get tickets on the floor just (25') to the stage left of the soundboard...so we had good sound, and it wasn't nearly as warm as in the upper deck I'm sure. I believe I am recorder 2 of this show.

The band was very loud (I would even say louder than Motorhead) and I did not think that the recording is going to be any good but it came out pretty good. The place was unfortunately half empty so I had great spot up on the balcony. They played for 2 hours and 35 minutes, great set and amazing performance.

Comments:
Here is our recording of the Eagles in Vegas on a saturday night. The sound at this arena is better than average. We were located dead center in section 101 (right behind the soundboard). The crowd was well behaved around us. The sound was excellent and the performance was very good this evening as the band appeared to be enjoying themselves. We really enjoyed this show and hope you do as well. Enjoy!

Notes:
Last performance of Cymbaline, ever.
Last performance and longest version of The Embryo ever recorded.
End of Echoes and Encore Blues only present in source 2. Lower fidelity in this segment.
Some CWTAE-type screaches during Embryo.
Bird chirping during quiet keyboards and lyrics of Fat Old Sun.
Baby cries at the beginning of Set the Controls.
It is heard well in source 2 and heard in the distance in source 1
Man yells Yea at end of Careful with that Ax, heard in both sources but much closer to source 1,

Original Source 1 notes:
This is a historic show for many reasons. The first is that this is the last gig of the 1971 tour, this date was a replacement date for the concert that was originally schedeuled on October 30th at the Music Hall in Cincinnati. A couple more reasons (and these are the good ones) are that this performance marks the last time the band ever performs 2 songs which had been staples of their setlist for quite some time, one song being The Embryo and the other one being Cymbaline. The Embryo contained here is the longest version to have ever been recorded, lasting about 26 minutes ... incredible!!! The band is quite hot this night too and therefore all the songs are performed very well in my opinion. This is the 1st recorder for this date and unfortunately it is not complete, missing some of Echoes and all of the encore, Blues. This is, however, the better sounding of the 2 recorders for this date and deserves a very nice EX rating. It's something special when you get all these goodies in one RoIO, please enjoy responsibly!

Original Source 2 notes:
The whole concert from the 2nd source! This is the source that is often used to complete Echoes and Blues. It comes from a 1st generation tape, reaching into the VG-/VG area for sound quality. Apart from a few drops at the begining of CWTAE and a cut during the Blues number, this is very decent, very listenable. It's 3 CDs although it could fit on 80 mins. The performance is sublime, as we all know it. It's always interesting to collect all available sources since you get a different feel for the show. I strongly recommend this one! 145 minutes of Pink Floyd at their best.

Complete, unedited pre-FM recording of Sinead's performance at the massive Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands. Allegedly leaked from the radio station, my copy is a second generation copy of the master. I traded it shortly after the performance and was asked not to spread it further. Twenty-five years onwards, I think it's time to liberate it...

The show was only partially broadcast on Dutch radio (unsure which songs) and tv (Troy only, you can find it on YouTube). I believe this is the first time it'll be in circulation in its entirety.

Acts on the bill that day, in order of appearance: Rainbirds, The Godfathers, Aswad, Herman Brood & His Wild Romance, Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Pogues, The Christians, Sinéad O’Connor, Joe Cocker.

Note: Jeff joins the The Jan Hammer Group during Track 4.

Jeff and Jan as opening act to Fleetwood Mac, so the show's a little shorter than some others from the tour. This one has really has nice sound and the lack of audience noise makes me wonder if this could have been recorded from the side of the stage. Sample included - enjoy.

tj7 notes:
Some tracks were split incorrectly, and there are some false starts here and there - but tracks 1-15 are from a very low gen source and sound great.

Carlo's notes:
" The tracking was madness, so I retracked this completely. I also removed those short silence gaps that were all around, but not on track boundaries. I hope I catched all.

This unfortunately is noise reduced, and obviously "mastered", but sounds much more better than what is commonly circulating and can be found on "3 ghosts caught in the act", and it has more songs including "King of pain", "One World" and "Don't stand so close to me". Last two tracks are from "3 ghosts" source and lower quality. They have been added (not by me) to have the most complete version of this rehearsals, but I understand they were not included originally in this version.

Please notice that there is some debate on the date and location of this rehearsals. "

the story behind

this jewel came by trade with ROLFS. it was labelled as "Kraan Bootleg 72/73".after a lot of investigations and discussions inside the Kraanickel community we say it must have happened somewhen between jan and jun 1973. 'Wintrup' was recorded in december 1972 and released in july 1973. Thanks a thousand times to ROLFS.
